O'Brien Duo Precise, True Love Lead Thousand Guineas
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Precise (IRE) heads a field of 19 runners in the May 3 One Thousand Guineas Stakes (G1) at Newmarket Racecourse. Precise landed the Fillies' Mile (G1) over the course and distance in October and runs alongside stablemate True Love (IRE), the 2025 Cheveley Park Stakes (G1) winner, who took the Priory Belle Stakes (G3) on her return last month. Ryan Moore rides Precise for the first time in her career, while Wayne Lordan, who guided True Love to her Cheveley Park victory, is back on board. Royal Ascot winner Venetian Sun (IRE), who has been a leading light for Karl Burke's yard, looks to be a prime contender for the home team. She beat Gstaad (GB) in the 2025 Prix Morny (G1) before finishing the season with a third-place effort in the Moyglare Stud Stakes (G1) behind Precise. Burke also runs Evolutionist (IRE), who put up a career-best effort last month when winning the Prix de la Grotte (G3). Godolphin has two runners in the classic in My Highness (IRE) and Abashiri (GB). My Highness makes her first start in Britain for French trainer Andre Fabre after finishing second against lower-rated rivals in her reappearance last month, and Abashiri won a fillies' maiden at Kempton Park in her sole start for Charlie Appleby in November. The Prettiest Star (GB), Touleen (GB), Azleet (GB), and Rose Ghaiyyath (IRE) are among the other better-fancied entrants in the field.
