Grade 1 Winner Seismic Beauty Retired From Racing

Grade 1 winner Seismic Beauty has been retired from racing, Boyd Racing racing manager Brittany Linton told Daily Racing Form Aug. 13. The daughter of Uncle Mo was among the best in the distaff division in 2025, picking off wins in the Santa Margarita Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita Park and the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) at Del Mar before being beaten as the favorite in the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1). The first eight starts of her career came wearing the silks of MyRacehorse and Peter Leidel, who bought the Maryland-bred for $550,000 out of the Glen Hill Farm consignment at the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. She had previously been sold by her breeder, Determined Stud, through Scott Mallory's consignment for $400,000 as a weanling at Fasig-Tipton's 2021 The November Sale. Following her disappointing 11th-place finish in the Breeders' Cup, Seismic Beauty brought $2.5 million out of Gainesway's consignment at the Fasig-Tipton's 2025 November sale. She was purchased by Randy and Jenny Boyd's Boyd Racing, which kept the filly with Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert. In two starts this year, Seismic Beauty was third in the May 30 Santa Margarita and eighth in the Aug. 1 Hirsch. "She told us pretty clear that she's ready for the next phase of her life," Linton told DRF's Steve Andersen. "With her pedigree and what she's accomplished on the track, she has an exciting future." Seismic Beauty retires with a record of 4-2-2 from 10 starts for earnings of $501,340.
