Coal Battle Among Entries for F-T August Digital Sale

Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 262 entries for its August Digital Sale, which may be viewed online at digital.fasigtipton.com. Bidding opened Aug. 27 and will close Sept. 1, beginning at 12 p.m. ET. The August Digital Sale includes horses of racing age, 2-year-olds, racing/broodmare prospects, broodmares—including mares with foals at their side, yearlings, weanlings, and a grade 1-winning stallion prospect. "We have more than 130 horses of racing age cataloged, contributing to a strong catalog that is 16% larger than last year's August Digital Sale," said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton director of digital sales. "With racehorses available at a variety of price points and in a range of conditions, we encourage all racing stables to take a close look at the catalog ahead of the lucrative upcoming race meetings." More than 130 ready-to-run horses of racing age are being offered, including: Coal Battle (Hip 22): 4-year-old colt won last year's Rebel Stakes (G2) by 1 1/4 lengths and is grade 1-placed in the Arkansas Derby (G1). He is twice placed in four stakes this year, including a second in the Lake Ouachita Stakes at Oaklawn Park. Consigned as a horse of racing age by Sean S. Perl Bloodstock, agent. Quality breeding stock offered include: Nimah (Hip 1): 3-year-old graded stakes-placed daughter of Gun Runner was an easy winner on debut as at 2 and finished third in last year's Starlet Stakes (G2). Nutella Fella (Hip 2): The son of Runhappy won the 2023 Hopeful Stakes (G1) at 2 by 1 1/2 lengths and placed third in the Woody Stephens Stakes (G1) at 3. Nutella Fella is out of the immediate family of 1990 and 1991 champion sprinter Housebuster and grade 1 winner Bright Future, who won the 2023 Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1). Little Miss Vivi (Hip 42): Daughter of Uncle Mo is a half sister to Songwriting, the dam of Lovcen (JPN), who seeks to become the ninth Japanese Triple Crown winner when he contests the Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger, G1) Oct. 25. She is offered in foal to Gunite by Legacy Bloodstock, agent for Tommy Town Thoroughbreds. Azimuth (Hip 43): Daughter of City Zip is a half sister to recent Nunthorpe Stakes (G1) winner Bacio.
