Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation Announces Changes
The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (TRF) today announced the retirement of Chief Financial Officer Pat Compagna (Stickney) and the appointment of Andy Pinto as the organization's new Chief Financial Officer. The transition marks an important moment for the TRF as it honors Pat's dedicated service and welcomes an experienced financial and strategic leader to help guide the organization into its next chapter. Pat has played an important role in the TRF's financial stewardship, helping ensure the organization's resources are responsibly managed in support of its mission to provide dignified lifetime care for retired Thoroughbreds and create opportunities for people to heal through the transformative power of horses. "Pat has been an invaluable part of the TRF team, and we are incredibly grateful for her dedication to this organization and to the horses and people we serve," said Maggie Sweet, Executive Director of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. "Her thoughtful leadership and commitment to sound financial management have helped strengthen the foundation from which the TRF continues to grow. We wish Pat all the very best as she begins this next chapter." Pinto brings extensive experience in accounting, finance, strategic risk management, operational improvement, and organizational leadership to the TRF. In his professional career, Pinto has led multi-disciplined teams with responsibility for strategy, operations, profitability, people, and quality. "I am honored to join the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and excited to be part of a team with such a strong history and dedicated staff," said Pinto. "I look forward to getting to know the people who make the TRF so special and working alongside the board and staff to strengthen the organization's financial foundation. I am grateful for the opportunity to bring my experience in finance, strategic planning, and organizational leadership to help position the TRF for continued growth and long-term success." As the TRF continues to expand its impact, strong financial stewardship remains essential to sustaining its commitment to the horses entrusted to its care. With nearly 400 retired Thoroughbreds relying on the organization, the TRF is focused on building a strong and sustainable future while continuing to advance its programs and partnerships. "Andy brings extensive financial experience and a thoughtful strategic perspective to the TRF," said Sweet. "We are excited to welcome him to the organization and look forward to the leadership he will bring as we continue building a strong future for the TRF."
