Spendthrift Farm will add grade 1 winners Baeza and Further Ado to its stallion roster for the 2027 breeding season.
Baeza has established himself as one of the most consistent grade 1 performers of his generation. A $1.2 million Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase, he placed in both the 2025 Kentucky Derby (G1) and Belmont Stakes (G1) at 3 before winning the Pennsylvania Derby (G1), then continued to compete at the highest level as a 4-year-old. Eight of his 13 career starts to date have been in grade 1 races. He was trained initially by the late John Shirreffs and now by Bill Mott for owners C R K Stable and his breeder Grandview Equine.

Baeza is by McKinzie , himself a winner of the Pennsylvania Derby, and out of Broodmare of the Year Puca, dam of 2023 Kentucky Derby winner Mage and 2024 Belmont Stakes and Haskell Stakes (G1) winner Dornoch . Baeza is her third grade 1-winning son.
Further Ado, campaigned by Spendthrift Farm and trained by Brad Cox, emerged as a top-class two-turn runner at 2 after breaking his maiden by 20 lengths at Keeneland, followed by a victory in the 2025 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs. At 3, he captured the Blue Grass Stakes (G1) by 11 lengths and added the Matt Winn Stakes (G3), covering the 1 1/16 miles in 1:41.26, the second-fastest running of the race at that distance behind only his sire Gun Runner .
"When you're looking for a horse capable of carrying forward the influence of a sire like Gun Runner, you want brilliance, athleticism, two-turn speed, and a physical to match. Further Ado, bred by John Oxley, is out of the Sky Mesa mare Sky Dreamer and descends from a female family that includes champion and six-time grade 1 winner Beautiful Pleasure, grade 1 winner Dream Dancing, and multiple graded stakes winner Kimbear.
Further Ado and Baeza will join Spendthrift's 2027 stallion roster upon the conclusion of their racing careers.
