The 4-year-old filly Eunomia has raced in five states in 2026: Florida, Virginia, Kentucky, New York, and California.
Plus, very soon, a sixth in Delaware, where she battles Regaled and nine other fillies and mares in the Sept. 26 Delaware Handicap (G3).
Though this marks her first start at Delaware Park, where the 1 1/8-mile race is staged, she has shown the versatility to handle a change in scenery. She comes off a half-length victory when sent cross-country to race in the Aug. 1 Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) at Del Mar.
The 4-year-old filly, purchased privately after a fast allowance win at Keeneland last fall, is 3-for-6 since she began racing for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. and her new owners. That record counts all of her starts this year, plus a victory in December at Tampa Bay Downs for those connections.
Jockey Micah Husbands, aboard for her breakthrough Clement L. Hirsch triumph, teams up with Joseph once again to ride the daughter of Tiz the Law owned by St. Elias Stable, WSS Racing, Turf Express Racing, and Miller Racing. She was assigned high weight of 124 pounds for the Delaware Handicap.
To win, she'll have to outlast the late rally of Regaled, who won the 2025 Delaware Handicap under Joe Ramos, who is aboard again Saturday. The daughter of Mohaymen followed that Delaware Handicap by showing in the 2025 Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) at Del Mar.
She has yet to win in four starts this year for owners Ribble Farms, Hoolie Racing Stable, and Kemp Racing Stables, but the late runner has twice recorded runner-up finishes. That includes her last start, when she finished three-quarters of a length behind Immersive in the June 27 Fleur de Lis Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs.
"She is coming into the second part of her year really well," trainer Whit Beckman said. "It is very much the same as last year. We are very happy with the way she is training. She has had a couple of really sharp works leading up to the race, so we are hopeful we are in the right spot and get the right setup. We know she likes Delaware, so hopefully everything will come together as it did last year."
Many of her better races have come on wet surfaces. There is a slight chance of showers Saturday in Delaware.
"We have learned she is pace-dependent, and she prefers an off track, so everything came together at the right time for her in last year's Delaware Handicap," Beckman said. "There was a pretty fast pace in the Breeders' Cup. Even though it did not come back, there was enough for us to have a good showing."
The race also includes Delta Squad Racing, Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables, and Michael Caruso's Margie's Intention, who won the 2025 George E. Mitchell Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (G1) at Pimlico Race Course.
The Delaware Handicap is part of the Breeders' Cup Dirt Dozen Bonus Series, and will award $30,000 to the winner, $15,000 to the runner-up, and $7,500 to the show finisher to apply toward entry fees for the $2 million Breeders' Cup Distaff Oct. 31 at Keeneland.
The Delaware Handicap is worth a minimum of $500,000 and will swell to $600,000 provided Eunomia and Margie's Intention both aren't scratched. The race conditions note a $100,000 purse boost if a grade 1 or grade 2 winner from 2025-26 competes.
