Arc Entries Among Arqana Arc Sale Offerings

The Oct. 3 Arqana Arc Sale begins a few minutes after the opening day of the meeting at ParisLongchamp Racecourse has concluded, just across the River Seine at Saint-Cloud. Among the around 40 horses in training who are set to go through the ring are four entries for this weekend. Bright Light (FR) and Chestnut Rocket (FR), consigned as lots 43 and 50, respectively, both hold Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) entries. A late starter who broke his duck in April, Bright Light will be sent off at a big price in the Arc. The 3-year-old son of City Light (FR) has shown a fine level of form, finishing a neck behind Tiffany (IRE) in the Grosser Preis von Berlin (G1) and then closed to finish third behind Saddadd (IRE) in the Grosser Preis von Baden (G1). Chestnut Rocket is another set to run in the Arc as a rank outsider. A listed winner on heavy ground over the Arc trip at Toulouse, the Intello (GER) 4-year-old ran very well in last month's Grand Prix de Deauville (G2) before being collared late by Al Aasy (IRE). Other lots holding weekend entries are Siciliano (FR), an outsider for Saturday's Prix Daniel Wildenstein (G2), and Space Waltz, a 3-year-old Kentucky-bred American Pharoah colt who could very easily head to the sales as the winner of the Prix Chaudenay (G2). Bred and owned by the Niarchos family, he is already a group 3 winner. BloodHorse staff contributed to this story.
