British Syndicate Secures Kameko From Qatar Bloodstock

A syndicate of leading British breeders has secured Kameko (GB) from Qatar Bloodstock, with the classic winner and group 1-throwing sire set to remain at Tweenhills. The son of Kitten's Joy, who became the fastest winner of the Two Thousand Guineas (G1) when successful at Newmarket in 2020, has stood at Tweenhills throughout his stallion career. His 2027 fee will be announced in the coming weeks. The deal was brokered by Tweenhills' David Redvers and JS Bloodstock's Billy Jackson-Stops. Redvers said: "We are thrilled a superb group of British breeders have joined forces to secure Kameko and enable him to remain with us in Britain. "With five stakes winners so far this season, Kameko is deservedly earning a reputation for producing tough racehorses with the class to compete at the top level, both domestically and internationally." Kameko's leading performers include grade 1 winner New Century (GB) and Wimbledon Hawkeye (GB), who was beaten a nose in the Irish Champion Stakes (G1) before landing Saturday's Prix Dollar (G2) at Longchamp. His progeny have also enjoyed significant sales-ring success, headed by a colt sold by Tweenhills for a Book 2 record of 1,000,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
