Breeding Right to Nyquist Added to Championship Sale
Keeneland announces that a lifetime breeding right to prominent sire Nyquist, whose progeny have enjoyed another exceptional year on the racetrack and in the sales ring, has been supplemented to its Championship Sale Oct. 28 at historic Castleton near Lexington. Cataloged as Hip 14 and consigned by Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services, agent, the lifetime breeding right entitles the purchaser to breed one mare annually to Nyquist for the duration of his stud career. The sire of 13 career grade 1 winners will stand at Darley's Jonabell Farm near Lexington in 2027 for $225,000, the highest advertised fee on the farm's stallion roster. A champion 2-year-old and winner of the 2016 Kentucky Derby (G1), Nyquist continues to distinguish himself as one of the nation's leading sires. His 2026 runners include three grade 1 winners: Emphatic, Knightsbridge, and Nysos. Emphatic and Knightsbridge are pre-entered in the Breeders' Cup World Championships Oct. 30-31 at Keeneland. Nyquist's continued success on the racetrack has been matched by his commercial demand. This year, he has had 11 seven-figure yearlings, including a $2.25 million session topper at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. The Nyquist breeding right joins a curated collection of exceptional racing and breeding opportunities being presented at the Championship Sale during Breeders' Cup week, including fractional and full ownership interests in horses targeting the World Championships at Keeneland.
