MyRacehorse Expands Fractional Ownership Into Canada

Through a collaboration with Woodbine Entertainment, MyRacehorse brings its global fractional ownership experience to Canadian racing fans. MyRacehorse has officially expanded into Canada, opening the door for racing fans nationwide to experience Thoroughbred ownership through a new collaboration with Woodbine Entertainment. Announced October 8, the expansion marks another milestone for the global fractional ownership platform, which has connected more than 100,000 owners worldwide with the horses, people, and experiences that make Thoroughbred racing unique. While the launch introduces new opportunities for Canadian enthusiasts, MyRacehorse is no stranger to success north of the border. In 2022, MyRacehorse owners celebrated a Canadian Classic victory when Duke of Love captured the Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie for Canadian Racing Hall of Fame trainer Josie Carroll. The now-retired stakes winner also participated in the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover on October 8, coinciding with the Canadian expansion announcement. Now, MyRacehorse is bringing its fractional ownership experience to Canadian racing fans, with ownership interests in Thoroughbreds starting at approximately $100 CAD through a one-time payment. Through the MyRacehorse app, owners can follow their horse’s journey from morning training to race day, receiving regular updates from trainers, veterinarians, jockeys, and other racing professionals. Exclusive behind-the-scenes content and opportunities for training visits, paddock tours, and owner events bring participants closer to the horses they follow. Beyond the racetrack, owners become part of a community, sharing the anticipation of upcoming races, celebrating milestones, and experiencing the excitement of cheering on their horse alongside fellow owners. “MyRacehorse has demonstrated how fractional ownership can bring more people into the sport and give them a meaningful connection to racing,” said Michael Copeland, CEO of Woodbine Entertainment. “Their proven track record and commitment to the ownership experience make them a strong partner for Woodbine.” MyRacehorse’s global ownership groups have celebrated more than 250 victories worldwide, including Authentic’s victories in the 2020 Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup Classic, Seize the Grey’s triumph in the 2024 Preakness Stakes, and 2024 Eclipse Champion Male Sprinter Straight No Chaser. The Canadian launch also reunites MyRacehorse with Carroll, who trains its inaugural Canadian offering, Atlantic Voyage ’24.
