Klocke Tops Inglis Digital Australia Online Sale
Klocke (Zoustar (AUS)) will continue his career in Hong Kong after selling to the Good Time Syndicate for AU$400,000 (US$279,114, AU$1=US$0.70) to top the Inglis Digital Australia November (Early) Online Sale which closed Nov. 4. The Chris Waller-trained 3-year-old was the subject of significant domestic and international bidding before eventually selling to Good Time Syndicate's Pato Leung, who is "already dreaming" of Klocke possibly contesting the prestigious Hong Kong 4-Year-Old Series. Klocke was offered by the Coolmore Colts Syndicate and Eric Koh. "We'll obviously see how he trains up and find the right trainer for him and discuss the future, but potentially he's a very good horse with a very good future we think that will be very good for Hong Kong,'' Leung said. "He could target the 4YO Series if he can get out to a distance. I don't know if he's up to a (Hong Kong) Derby, but we'll certainly see how far we can get him." The second-top lot was the 8-year-old mare Wrote To Arataki (NZ), who sold to Rollo Thomassi for AU$150,000. Wrote To Arataki was offered by Sheamus Mills, as agent for the mare's trainer, Matthew Williams. In total, the November (Early) Sale grossed AU$2,270,000 (US$1,583,972). Entries are now open for the Inglis Digital Australia November (Late) Online Sale and will remain so until midnight local time Nov. 11. The sale will run from Nov. 13-18.
