New Al Shaqab stallion Sahlan has been installed at €7,000 for his first season on the operation's Haras de Bouquetot roster for 2027.
The 2025 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (G1) winner is one of six sires at the Normandy farm next year with the high-class Zelzal top of the list at €12,000
Amelie Gussago-Lemercier, Al Shaqab nominations manager, said: "As the first group 1 winner bred at Haras de Bouquetot to return home to stand at stud, Sahlan is a particular source of pride for our team. With an exceptional turn of foot and a well-balanced physique, this son of Wootton Bassett will stand at €7,000.
"Zelzal has enjoyed an excellent 2026 season, topping the French-based sires' rankings by both prize money and number of individual winners. With 14 individual black-type performers this year, including group 1 performer Alam, as well as Mise En Boite and Shelzawa, he continues to demonstrate remarkable consistency, with an impressive 50% winners-to-runners ratio."
Gussago-Lemercier continued: "Armor continues to fulfill the promise shown during his early seasons at stud. Despite his relatively small crops, he ranks second among French-based sires of 2-year-olds in Europe in 2026, behind only Siyouni, by percentage of black-type winners to runners.
"Following a successful 2025 season, highlighted by Woodshauna's victory in the Prix Jean Prat and Jawwal's runner-up finish in the Prix de l'Abbaye, Wooded continued to make his mark in 2026 with stakes winner Woody Frangipani. With two group 1 performers already emerging from his first crop, he represents an excellent opportunity at €5,000."
