Honest Mischief Moves to Waldorf Farm for 2027

Sequel New York announced Nov. 6 that Honest Mischief will stand at Waldorf Farm in Valatie, N.Y., in 2027. The move builds on Sequel's relationship with Waldorf Farm's Dr. Jerry Bilinski and Kenny Toye and their shared commitment to growing New York's breeding program. A Juddmonte homebred by multiple leading sire Into Mischief out of grade 1 winner Honest Lady, by Seattle Slew, Honest Mischief combines an exceptional female family with a growing record of success through stakes winners such as Sacrosanct, Stone Smuggler, and Spirit of New York. His move to Waldorf places him with an experienced team that shares Sequel's enthusiasm for his continued development as a leading New York sire. "We are very excited to welcome Honest Mischief to Waldorf Farm and grateful for the confidence Sequel places in our team," Toye said. "He continues to distinguish himself through his runners, and the opportunity to stand a stallion with his pedigree and proven ability to produce stakes horses is especially meaningful to us. We look forward to building on that success together and welcoming the breeders who play such an important role in his future." Honest Mischief is the fifth-leading sire in New York as of Nov. 6 with more than $2.76 million in progeny earnings. "Our goal is to bring more quality mares into New York and give breeders every reason to keep investing here," Sequel's Becky Thomas said. "That requires us to look beyond our individual farms and consider what we can accomplish together. By sharing resources, coordinating our efforts, and removing barriers for breeders, we can create stronger opportunities for our stallions and a more sustainable future for the entire program. We are fortunate to take this step with Dr. Bilinski and Kenny at Waldorf as well as Kirk Wycoff and the Mountain View team, people with whom we share strong relationships and a lasting commitment to New York." Sequel remains committed to supporting each of its stallions and is actively acquiring mares to expand its New York broodmare band. Honest Mischief will stand for $6,500 in 2027 with a live foal stands-and-nurses guarantee. He stood for $7,500 this year.
