Grade 1 winner sprinter/miler Girolamo is being reported as having died Oct. 8, according to Korea Racing Association stud book records.

The 16-year-old son of A.P. Indy was exported to South Korea in January 2018 and went on to sire 126 foals in Korea. His son Complete Value was named Korean champion 2-year-old colt for 2021. To date, the colt has compiled 6-3-1 record from 11 starts and earned US$593,823.

Girolamo has sired 11 career black-type winners and 10 additional stakes-placed performers. His top North American runner is Highway Star, who won the Gallant Bloom Handicap (G2), Ruffian Stakes (G2), and Distaff Handicap (G3) in 2017 and was second that year in the Ketel One Ballerina Stakes (G1). The filly raced from 3 to 5 and earned $1,326,813.

The sire's progeny have earned more than $17.7 million and averaged $65,708 per starter.

Bred by Ben Walden, Philip Steinberg, and WinStar Farm, Girolamo was out of the grade 3-winning Mr. Prospector daughter Get Lucky. Girolamo won the 2010 Vosburgh Stakes (G1) and 2009 Jerome Handicap (G2) and was third in the 2010 Hill 'n' Dale Cigar Mile Handicap (G1) for Godolphin.

He entered stud at Sequel Stallions New York, where he stood for three years, and then stood for four years at Darley Stallions in Kentucky before he was exported to Korea.
