Updates for Picture Perfect Oaks and KY Derby Days

Picture perfect, Chamber of Commerce weather is expected at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Oaks Day and largely for Kentucky Derby day.

Rain originally given a chance of hitting Friday afternoon is now forecasted to be south of Louisville, Ky.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a sunny Friday, with a high near 76 degrees and winds of six to nine mph. Overnight, the low is expected to be 52. For Derby Day, partly sunny with scattered sprinkles and a high near 77 with winds similar to Friday.

Friday at 9 a.m. was the scratch time for both Friday and Saturday.

Friday's scratches, according to Churchill Downs, as of 9:10 a.m. are:

Race 1: 1 Lady Emily Kathryn and 7 K'antheia
Race 2: 1 Be Here Now, 5 Peacock Lass and 12 T Max
Race 3: The also-eligibles and main-track-only entrants, which are 13 Price Talk, 14 Legal Attack (GB), 15 Koufax, 16 Richiesgotgame, 17 Button Boy, 18 Creative Minister, 19 Johny's Fireball, and 20 Flags Up.
Race 4: 2 New Roo, 5 Tap Dancing Lady, 14 Stepper, 16 Mouffy and 17 Mambo Kitten.
Race 5: 7 Giant Game.
Race 6: 3 Henrietta Topham and 9 Kate's Kingdom.
Race 7: 4 Effortlesslyelgant and 7 Positano Sunset.
Race 8: 10 Love of My Heart and 12 Quaria Comet.
Races 9 and 10: No changes.
Race 11 Kentucky Oaks (G1): also-eligibles 15 Taxed, 16 Julia Shining and 17 Hoosier Philly.
Race 12: 7 Forever Dixie and 10 Cotton Candy Annie.
Race 13: 6 Islandinthestream and 9 Never Tell Patti.

Previously announced scratches for Saturday include all Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained runners, including Lord Miles (19) in the Derby. Other Derby scratches are Practical Move (10), Continuar (20), and most recently Skinner (9), due to an elevated temperature. The also-eligibles Cyclone Mischief (21), Mandarin Hero (JPN) (22), and King Russell (23) have drawn into the race, which now has a field of 19.

The rail will be in lane 2 on Friday at 12 feet and lane 1 on Saturday.
