Grade 1-winning millionaire Gift Box will relocate to Saudi Arabia to continue his stud career beginning in 2026 after being purchased by Prince Abdulaziz bin Mousd al Saud. The 12-year-old horse previously stood at Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky.
Bred by Craig and Carrie Brogden and their Machmer Hall, Gift Box won or placed in 14 of 18 career starts with earnings of $1.12 million. After initially racing in the colors of W.S. Farish, who purchased the son of Twirling Candy for $135,000 as a weanling at Fasig-Tipton's The November Sale, Gift Box won the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) and finished second twice in the San Antonio Stakes (G2) while trained by John Sadler for Hronis Racing on the West Coast.
Produced from the Unbridled's Song mare Special Me, Gift Box is a half brother to the multiple grade 1 winner Gina Romantica and graded stakes winners Stonetastic and Special Forces.
From two crops of racing age, Gift Box has been represented by progeny that have earned more than $1.7 million.
The top horse sired by Gift Box to date has been Powdered Sugar, a Louisiana-bred 3-year-old filly who won the Cajun Miss Stakes earlier this year at Evangeline Downs. Gift Box has 135 foals of racing age, including 53 current 2-year-olds. His fee was $5,000 in 2025.
