Beginning Oct. 1, Delaware Park will introduce a starter bonus for the remainder of the 2025 meet, which is scheduled to conclude Oct. 18.
Under the program, horses stabled at Delaware Park that start in fields of eight or more on the dirt or 10 or more on the turf will receive $1,200, of which the trainer will receive $1,000 and the owner will receive $200.
Horses not stabled at Delaware Park that start in fields of eight or more on the dirt or 10 or more on the turf will receive $700, of which the trainer will receive $500 and the owner will receive $200.
For horses that start in fields of less than eight on the dirt or ten on the turf, the bonus will be $500, of which the trainer will receive $300, and the owner will receive $200, regardless of where they are stabled.
