Jack Davison is set to saddle his first runner at the Breeders' Cup with his stable star She's Quality traveling to Del Mar following another huge sprint effort when third in the Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp (G1) Oct. 5.
The 4-year-old has been a model of consistency this season. Ridden in Paris by her usual jockey, James Ryan, she tracked the pace in the initial stages before sticking on well to be beaten three lengths by Asfoora on ground considered soft enough for her.
The Acclamation filly will bid to provide both her and her trainer with a top-level breakthrough in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T) Nov. 1.
Davison believes she has the attributes necessary to produce a big display in that contest, with the expected quick ground in her favor.
"It was a great run at Longchamp on ground which wouldn't be optimal," he said. "She's danced every dance this year and is taking all the traveling well, so we'll kick on with her and try and live the dream.
"She has great gate speed and speed on quick ground, which is probably a key thing around there. It will be our first runner in the U.S. if she gets over, so it's very exciting."
There is set to be further Irish representation in the contest courtesy of the Adrian Murray-trained Arizona Blaze. The Amo Racing runner made his group 1 breakthrough in the Flying Five and was second to Magnum Force in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T) last year.
