War of Will , the multiple grade 1-winning stallion, will be moving from Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky., to Rockridge Stud near Hudson, N.Y., for 2026.
"We are honored to have this opportunity with (owner Gary Barber) on another stallion and thrilled to have Claiborne dipping a toe into the N.Y. market," said Rockridge president Lere Visagie.
War of Will, who began his stud career in 2021, won the 2019 Preakness Stakes (G1) and the Mile Stakes (G1T) at Keeneland the following year. His exploits earned him starts on both surfaces at the Breeders' Cup.
"I am very much looking forward to supporting War of Will in the lucrative New York breeding program," Barber said. "With the new Belmont facility coming online with three surfaces, I know War of Will can provide many opportunities for my mares and stable to become a large part of the New York program."
War of Will's surface versatility might prove attractive to New York breeders as the new Belmont Park will feature dirt, turf, and synthetic tracks.
Claiborne Farm will continue to be a shareholder in War of Will's new syndicate at Rockridge.
War of Will stood for $15,000 at Claiborne in 2025. His fee for 2026 was not announced.
In his career, War of Will, a son of War Front, was 5-1-3 from 18 starts with $1,881,803 in earnings.
Among his top offspring through two crops are Will Then, winner of the 2024 Jimmy Durante Stakes (G3T), and Final Accord, who won this year's Matron Stakes (G3T).
