Darby Dan Farm has set 2026 stud fees for its roster of 11 stallions that will stand the upcoming breeding season, led by Blazing Sevens , Flameaway , and Dialed In , who will each stand for $10,000 with a stands and nurses guarantee.
Blazing Sevens, winner of the one-mile Champagne Stakes (G1) at 2 and runner-up by just a head to subsequent Eclipse champion older male National Treasure in the Preakness Stakes (G1), hails from the first crop of leading sire Good Magic . Blazing Sevens broke his maiden at Saratoga Race Course in his career bow, winning by 6 1/4 lengths. Also at 2, he finished a rallying third in the Hopeful Stakes (G1) at Saratoga. In the Champagne, he overcame a troubled start, made a sweeping five-wide move on the far turn, and powered home a 3 1/4-length winner for trainer Chad Brown. Demand for Blazing Sevens was strong in his debut season at stud, having bred 139 mares. His first foals will arrive in 2026.
Flameaway is a multiple graded stakes-winning son of Scat Daddy and his only son at stud to win stakes at 2, 3, and 4. This year, he is a top-five third-crop sire represented by Bear River, who enters the $1 million Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T) in top form, having captured the $2 million Kentucky Turf Sprint Stakes (G2) at Kentucky Downs. In his "Win and You're In" Kentucky Turf Sprint Stakes score, Bear River set all the pace and defeated a contentious international field while sizzling 6 furlongs in 1:07.71.
Flameaway is also represented this year by 2-year-old filly Amada Mila, a group 1 winner in her native Chile; and Dark Saffron, who became the first 3-year-old in history to defeat elders in the $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) at Meydan Racecourse, which included Eclipse Award champion sprinter and last year's Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) winner Straight No Chaser .
A proven powerhouse, Dialed In has continued to sire top-tier runners since landing the leading freshman sire title in 2016. His top runners this year include Whatchatalkinabout, who showed his grit with a determined victory in the John A Nerud Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct, and Train the Trainer, who won the New York Derby and the Mike Lee Stakes. Overall, Dialed In is the sire of 76 black-type horses, 29 stakes winners, and more than $57 million in progeny earnings.
Modernist , a son of the late Uncle Mo and a graded stakes winner at 3 and 4, including the Risen Star Stakes (G2) as a sophomore, is represented by first-crop runners in 2025. Among them are Trendsetter, winner of the $100,000 Hickory Tree Stakes at Colonial Downs and an impressive debut maiden special weight winner; multiple stakes-placed Grazie, who scored a 4 1/2-length maiden special weight victory on debut at Saratoga and ran third in both the Joseph A. Gimma Stakes and Seeking the Ante Stakes; and Last Candy, third in the Illinois Debutante Stakes. In the auction ring, first 2-year-olds by Modernist caught the eye, commanding up to $310,000 (Grazie) and $300,000 (Embry Show).
