Yaupon Colt Tops Book 4 Opener at Keeneland November

A weanling colt by Yaupon  (Hip 2054) consigned by Serendipity Farm, agent, sold to Al Jawzaa General Trading for $290,000 Nov. 9, the highest price of the sixth session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. Out of the Munnings  mare Gypsy's Feather, he is from the family of champion Rushing Fall and grade 1 winners Trumpet's Blare and Albert the Great.

On Sunday, the first day of Book Four, 267 horses sold for $10,937,500, an increase of 10% from the sixth session last year when 281 horses brought $9,905,900, including post-ring sales. The average rose 16% from $35,252 to $40,964, and the median of $30,000 is 20% above $25,000 from last year. The RNA rate of 18% represented the 58 horses who failed to meet their reserve.

In other Sunday sales, Yaupon was also the sire of a weanling colt (Hip 2247) sold to Big Bear Bloodstock for $250,000. Legacy Bloodstock, agent, consigned the son of Social Mandate, a winning daughter of Strong Mandate. He is from the family of multiple stakes winner Tensas Harbor.

Ella Elizabeth (Hip 2009), a 4-year-old daughter of Take Charge Indy , who is a full sister to grade 3 winner and stakes producer Take Charge Paula and offered in foal to Golden Pal , sold to Hidden Brook, agent, for $220,000. Consigned by Glendalough at Dromoland, agent, Ella Elizabeth is out of Perfect Paula, a winning daughter of Songandaprayer who was stakes-placed in England. Take Charge Paula is the dam of stakes winner Long Neck Paula.

Acquiring four horses for $540,000, Hidden Brook, agent, was the session's leading buyer.

Hidden Brook, agent, also spent $170,000 to acquire She Caught My Eye (Hip 2226), a winning 6-year-old daughter of Violence  in foal to Domestic Product . Out of Purrfectly Mine, by Mineshaft, she is from the family of grade 2 winner and grade 1-placed Santa Catarina. Glendalough at Dromoland, agent, consigned She Caught My Eye.

The second horse to sell for $170,000 was Smoothly (Hip 2245), a 3-year-old daughter of Nyquist  in foal to Hard Spun , who was purchased by BMFHR. Consigned by Godolphin, she is a half sister to stakes winner Nelson Avenue and from the family of grade 1 winner Matareya, grade 2 winner Lucullan and grade 3 winner Innovative Idea. Her dam is Via Strata, a winning daughter of Street Cry.

Red Stable spent $155,000 for a weanling colt (Hip 2262) by Oscar Performance , who is a half sister to stakes winner Bella Aurora. Out of the winning Street Cry mare Street Interest, he was consigned by Kingswood Farm, agent. The colt is from the family of grade 1 winners Shared Interest, Sewickley, Cash Run, and Forestry.

Three horses sold for $140,000 apiece.

Consigned by Godolphin and sold to Foundation Bloodstock for the amount, Abeyance (Hip 1899) is a 4-year-old winning daughter of American Pharoah  in foal to Frosted . From the family of grade 1 winner and sire Scat Daddy, she is out of grade 3 winner and grade 1-placed Antipathy, by A.P. Indy.

Yaupon also is the sire of a weanling filly (Hip 1938) consigned by Scott Mallory, agent, and sold to Buena Madera for $140,000. Out of Bliss, a winning daughter of Flashy Bull, she is from the family of stakes winners Blissful Union and Blissful Kiss.

Fortuna Mia (Hip 2039), a 3-year-old daughter of Vekoma  who was a winning stakes-placed runner, sold for $140,000 to Machmer Hall. Consigned by Kingswood Farm, agent, she is out of the winning Cairo Prince  mare Windy Lane and from the family of grade 1 winners Fault, Juju's Map, and Bast, along with grade 2 winner Fioretti.

Selling 24 horses for $1,135,000, Taylor Made Sales Agency led consignors.
