In romping in three of five starts, Knightsbridge has hinted at the promise of becoming a future stakes winner.

The future could be now Dec. 27 at Gulfstream Park when Godolphin's homebred 4-year-old Nyquist  colt competes in the $150,000 Mr. Prospector Stakes (G3). He is the 7-5 second choice on the morning line in the eight-horse field, which is led by even-money favorite White Abarrio, though the latter is not certain to start in the 7-furlong race.

Knightsbridge, trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, ran competitively in his only prior stakes appearance when finishing in a dead heat for third in the Perryville Stakes (G3) in October 2024 at Keeneland. Since then, he's run just twice—finishing second in a February allowance optional claiming race over a one-turn mile at Gulfstream and winning a Nov. 22 comeback race against allowance optional claimers over 7 furlongs Nov. 22 at Aqueduct Racetrack.

The lightly raced one-turn specialist also raced twice before the Perryville, capturing those starts against lesser competition by a combined margin of 19 1/2 lengths.

Bred by Godolphin out of the Bernardini mare Tyburn Brook, Knightsbridge is a half brother to Speaker's Corner , a son of Street Sense  who won three graded races, including the 2022 Carter Handicap (G1).

Junior Alvarado, aboard Knightsbridge in his past four races, is scheduled to ride the dark bay or brown colt from post 2.

If White Abarrio competes, he will break from the rail under Irad Ortiz Jr. The multiple grade 1 winner, who ran second after a slow start in the 2024 Mr. Prospector before winning the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) in January, has not raced since the summer. His connections could opt to train him up to the 2026 Pegasus World Cup Jan. 24.

The Saffie Joseph Jr. trainee last worked Dec. 11, which led to his removal from the veterinarians' list in California. He had been placed on that list—a group of horses ineligible to run—after being scratched from the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) in the post parade by stewards on the advice of a regulatory veterinarian.

Among White Abarrio's 10 wins in 24 starts is a victory in the 2023 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at Santa Anita Park while trained at the time by Rick Dutrow Jr. The gray and/or roan son of Race Day is 8-for-10 on the Gulfstream Park main track, a record that includes a victory in the 2022 Florida Derby (G1) when trained by Joseph. White Abarrio also has been effective sprinting.

Super Chow, with earnings of $980,145 for owner Lea Farms, can become a millionaire Saturday by finishing either first or second. Winner of the Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes in February and one other race in six starts this year, he returns from a two-month layoff following a fifth-place finish in the Wilmington Stakes at Delaware Park.

"We're very happy and encouraged for this race. We gave him some time off after his last race, and he's really coming around," trainer Jorge Delgado said. "His workouts in the morning make us expect a good performance."

Super Chow set the pace before weakening to sixth in last year's Mr. Prospector. He is 1-1-2 in five starts at 7 furlongs, compared with 10-4-4 in 24 races at other distances.

"He won a graded stakes in New York at 7 furlongs," Delgado said, referring to the 2024 Toboggan Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct. "It was a different track and different surface. But I don't think it will make a difference with the right trip."

Wound Up and Playmea Tune are other threats.
