WinStar Farm's Timberlake , a grade 1 winner at 2 and a millionaire son of leading sire Into Mischief , sired his first reported foal Jan. 20 when a colt was born at Monticule in Lexington.

Allison Banks' Farm d'Allie Racing Stable bred the colt out of the Verrazano mare Flume, a half sister to Identity Politics, who was runner-up in the 2018 Malibu Stakes (G1).

"He is a big, strong colt, and I think if they all look like him then everyone will be happy," said Breena Kaplan, farm manager at Monticule.

Allison Banks added, "I am so blessed to have a healthy, strong colt, and a wonderful mare who produces good individuals. To be Timberlake's first foal is just icing on the cake. Our operation may be small, but I feel strongly about quality breeding and attention to detail."

Campaigned by Siena Farm and WinStar, Timberlake won his second start at 2 by 9 1/4 lengths at Ellis Park and jumped immediately to grade 1 competition. He ran second in the Hopeful Stakes (G1) and won the Champagne Stakes (G1) by 4 1/4 lengths, defeating subsequent 2-year-old champion male Fierceness and registering a 106 Equibase Speed Figure.

At 3, he won the Rebel Stakes (G2) at Oaklawn Park and ran third in the Haskell Stakes (G1) on his way to earning more than $1.3 million with trainer Brad Cox.

Timberlake bred 161 mares in his initial book and stands for $15,000.
