The Inglis Digital USA February Sale closed Feb. 6, further displaying the auction company's status as a reliable venue for trade ahead of the broodmare season, led by broodmare prospect More Than a Diva at $50,000.
Robert Chasanoff secured sale topper More Than a Diva, a winning daughter of More Than Ready out of a half sister to classic winner and prominent young sire Tiz the Law .
Bred by JSM Equine, the 6-year-old More Than a Diva is out of the Unbridled's Song mare Diva Style, whose trio of other winners also includes stakes winner Haute Diva, who is being pointed for the Kentucky Oaks (G1) trail by trainer Patrick Biancone after winning the Cash Run Stakes Jan. 1 at Gulfstream Park. Her second dam is the grade 2 winner Tizfiz, who is the dam of Tiz the Law, winner of the 2020 Belmont Stakes (G1) and Travers Stakes (G1) and a fast-rising sire in Kentucky. Grade 3 winner and sire Fury Kapcori can also be found in the extended family.
More Than a Diva was consigned by Last Laugh Stables, and she was made available for inspection at Clearbrook Farm near Paris, Ky.
Michael King secured the day's second-highest-priced offering, the multiple stakes-placed Blame mare Cut From Class, for $42,500.
Offered as a broodmare prospect from the consignment of Caitlin Keil, Cut From Class won four races and placed in a trio of stakes races during her on-track career, with earnings of $204,798.
The 7-year-old Maryland-bred is out of the winning Silver Charm mare Debbie's Diamond, whose six winners also include stakes winner Debbie's Tude and stakes-placed If I Was a Boy. Her page also features a variety of grade/group 1 winners, including Al Mamoon, La Gueriere, Delectation, Artorius, and Southport Tycoon.
Cut From Class was made available for inspection from Keil's barn at Laurel Park in Maryland.
The February Sale offered local options for a wide variety of buyers, with horses in the catalog based in Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and Virginia.
