The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club today announced that first post for the 2026 summer meet will primarily be 2:00 PM (PT) on all race days, including Fridays.
The change moves Friday racing from its previous 4:00 PM start to 2:00 PM, creating a consistent post time throughout the week and providing fans, horsemen and women, and industry partners with a streamlined schedule.
Del Mar's 2026 summer meet begins on Friday, July 17, and runs through Labor Day Monday, September 7. Closing weekend -- September 5-7 -- will be the only deviation from the 2:00 PM start time, with races kicking off at 1:30 PM (PT) each day.
The 2026 summer meet will continue to feature the world-class racing, vibrant seaside atmosphere and signature events that have defined Del Mar for generations.
