Two horses worked a furlong in :09 3/5 during the April 9 fourth session of the under-tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale.

Hip 805, a colt by freshman sire Mind Control , was the first juvenile to record the co-fastest furlong of the day. The colt was bred in New York by Rockridge Stud, Animals in Motion, and Chesapeake Farm. He is the third foal of the unraced Flatter mare, and hails from the family of grade 1 winner Mor Spirit and grade 3 winner Speed King. Grassroots Training and Sales purchased the colt for $55,000 at last year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale. Mind Control, who stands in New York as a Rockridge Stud/Irish Hill and Dutchess Views venture, is represented by his first 2-year-olds this year.

"He's an athletic, nice-moving horse," said David McKathan of Grassroots Training and Sales, which he co-owns with Jody Mihalic. "We were pretty sure he was going to work fast. He prepped really well. He's a pretty straightforward horse. (Mind Control) gets a decent-bodied horse, and this guy is a New York-bred. We like the New York-breds, but this colt is really going to do well for somebody anywhere."

Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables sent out Hip 754, a filly by Gainesway's McKinzie , to work a furlong in :09 3/5. The filly is out of the stakes-producing City Zip mare, E Built This City. She was bred in Kentucky by Champion Equine and purchased by Redwings for $155,000 at last year's Keeneland September sale.

Dunne also sent out Hip 724, a colt by WinStar Farm freshman sire Nashville  who worked a furlong in :09 4/5. The colt is out of the Unbridled's Song mare Diva Style, who is a half sister to multiple grade 1 winner and sire Tiz the Law

Omar Ramirez Bloodstock sent out two colts to breeze a furlong in :09 4/5—Hip 679, a colt by Taylor Made Stallion's leading sire Not This Time , and Hip 704, a colt by Darley's freshman sire Speaker's Corner .

A total of 15 horses worked a furlong in :09 4/5.

Three fillies breezed a quarter-mile in :20 3/5—Hip 623, a filly by Omaha Beach , who is out of a half sister to stakes-placed and graded stakes-producing Been Here Before, consigned by Hoppel; Hip 676, a filly by Uncle Mo out of a half sister to graded stakes winner Happy Farm, consigned by Tom McCrocklin, agent; and Hip 723, a filly by Nashville who is out of a daughter of stakes-winning mare Kiss N Scat, and consigned by Omar Ramirez Bloodstock, agent.

The under-tack show continues at 8 a.m. ET April 10, with hips 814-1016 set to head to the track.
