The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is partnering with seven regional farms and Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital for exclusive behind-the-scenes tours this year from May through October. The Museum is pleased to offer these tours at no cost to our guests, thanks to the support of the New York Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund.
The Museum's tour series kicks off Saturday, May 23, at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds. Other farm tours include Song Hill Thoroughbreds (June 13), Greentree Stables (July 25), Mill Creek Farm (Aug. 22), Irish Hill Century Farm (Sept. 19), and Old Tavern Farm (Oct. 10). Tours of Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital will be offered on May 26, June 30, July 21, and Aug. 25.
Guests will enjoy a unique experience at each location, where a knowledgeable guide will provide a comprehensive look at the day-to-day operations and what makes each location unique. Guests will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with resident thoroughbreds, farm staff, as well as experts in horse care at Rood & Riddle. Finally, at the close of the tour, guests will have the opportunity to ask their guide any questions they may have about the care of these equine athletes and aspects of life on the farm or hospital. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for all tours.
Tour space is limited and registration is required for all tours. To book a tour, click here.
The Museum has a variety of additional tour offerings throughout the year. The popular Oklahoma Training Track tours begin in May and are available through October; exclusive tours of the Museum with legendary former racetrack announcer Tom Durkin will take place June 3-5 during the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. The Museum also offers traditional guided tours year-round, including special group rates, and special tours led by Hall of Fame inductees.
