Prominent sires surface deep in the female families of a pair of juveniles cataloged for the third session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale April 16.
Prolific Three Chimneys Farm sire Gun Runner jumps in the female family of Hip 701, a daughter of Justify , and promising Ashford Stud stallion Tiz the Law is evident in the pedigree of Hip 724, a Nashville colt. Specifically, Hip 701's dam, Dance Quietly (A.P. Indy), is a related to numerous graded stakes winners, including Quiet Giant, who produced Gun Runner, and Hip 724's dam, Diva Style (Unbridled's Song), is a half sister to Tiz the Law, the 2020 Belmont Stakes (G1) and Travers Stakes (G1) winner.
Hip 701, bred in Kentucky by Whisper Hill Farm, is the 11th of 13 foals for her dam, seven of which have raced. Four are winners, led by stakes-winning Dance D'Oro, an earner of $159,660, and Glory and Power, a winning producer of the multiple stakes-placed Game Warden (Tapit ).
Hip 701 went unsold as part of Gainesway's consignment to the 2025 Keeneland September Yearling Sale when bidding stalled at $275,000. Justify's 35 yearling fillies sold at public auction last year averaged $301,560. The Triple Crown-winning racehorse and popular stallion, sire of graded winners British Isles and Grand Job in 2026, stands this year for $200,000 at Ashford Stud.
Hip 724, by the speedy Nashville and bred by JSM Equine in Kentucky, is a half sibling to six other foals to race, four of them winners. One of those, the 3-year-old filly Haute Diva, won the Cash Run Stakes at Gulfstream Park earlier this year before going unplaced in the Davona Dale Stakes (G2) and Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) for JSM Equine and trainer Patrick Biancone. This is Hip 724's first sale.

Nashville's first crop of 2-year-olds have begun reaching the track. The WinStar Farm stallion's first starter, Tigrado, ran third on debut April 3 at Keeneland.
Nashville holds the 6-furlong track record at Keeneland, accomplished in winning the 2020 Perryville Stakes there in 1:07.89. He retired to stud with a 4-1-0 record in eight starts with earnings of $233,350. He stands this season at WinStar Farm for $12,500.
Hip 701 breezed a furlong in :10 during her under tack show, while the Hip 724 showed hints of his sire's quickness, timed in :09 4/5. Both juveniles are consigned by Wavertree Stables (Ciaran Dunne).
Other fast-working juveniles selling for Wavertree Thursday include Hip 817, a Yaupon colt also clocked in :09 4/5 during his under-tack show, and Hip 754, a McKinzie filly who zipped a furlong in :09 3/5.
