Horse Racing Radio Network, the broadcast organization based in Lexington, launches a full slate of Kentucky Derby week programming on Tuesday morning live from Churchill Downs with the first of three "Derby Countdown" Shows presented by Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa.
Each morning, from 8-10 a.m. EST, hosts Bobby Neuman and Jude Feld broadcast live from the Churchill Downs barn area, visiting with owners, trainers, jockeys, and handicappers, while providing the latest updates on Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby horses preparing to compete in racing's spring classics. The Derby Countdown shows can be heard Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings on Sirius 161/XM 206 with live streaming and podcast archives made available each day on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net, and all podcast platforms.
Among the guests scheduled to appear on this week's Countdown shows are trainers Brad Cox, Chad Brown, Mark Casse, Cherie DeVaux and two-time Kentucky Derby winner Doug O'Neill, along with three-time Derby winning jockey John Velazquez and NBC announcer Larry Collmus.
Kentucky Derby day programming is highlighted by a special Derby morning edition of HRRN's Saturday morning talk show, the Equine Forum presented by TwinSpires. Hosted by Mike Penna, the show airs in its customary weekly time slot from 8-11 a.m. ET on Sirius 162/XM 207 and is also available via podcast after the live airing.
