The ballot for the 2026 election of 22 Breeders' Cup Member positions has been released by Breeders' Cup Limited. The Member election website will open at 9:00 a.m. ET on Monday, May 25, and closes at 5:00 p.m. ET on Monday, June 1.
Of the 26 candidates on the ballot, 18 are incumbent Members standing for re-election. There are eight new individuals seeking election. The 20 individuals receiving the most votes will each serve four-year terms. Additionally, as the result of two vacancies, two terms lasting two years will be filled by the candidates that finish 21st and 22nd.
Members are elected on a bi-annual basis by Breeders' Cup foal and stallion nominators through a proportional voting system based on level of nominations paid to Breeders' Cup Limited. There are a total of 39 elected Breeders' Cup Members. The Members meet each July and elect individuals to the Board of Directors, which oversees the activities of the organization.
