The closing day of Santa Anita Park’s winter-spring season will be extended one additional day, with June 15 added to the racing schedule.
The additional day of racing comes after four races were canceled June 11 because of power issues. Those races will be redrawn, with additional races added to the program.
Thursday's power failure affected parts of the building after the fifth race, including the broadcast production and production truck. A backup generator also failed. Wagers were refunded in accordance with California Horse Racing Board rules.
First post time will be 10 a.m. ET Monday, with free parking, general admission, and happy-hour pricing.
Mandatory payouts will still be offered on all wagers June 14, the original planned closing day, with mandatory payouts also in effect for Monday’s program.
