Colonial Downs is the latest track to cancel racing July 3 due to extreme summer heat. The Virginia track has rescheduled its Friday card as drawn to July 6.
In addition, Colonial Downs will shift the programs scheduled for July 4 and July 5 to begin at 10:45 a.m. ET. Monday's card will begin at the regular 12:30 p.m. post time.
Belterra Park, Delaware Park, Ellis Park, and Monmouth Park have also canceled or moved racing programs due to weather after numerous cancellations July 2. Woodbine also canceled racing Thursday and Friday, but for underground infrastructure repairs.
