Woodbine Entertainment today announced a new partnership with Citytv, Sportsnet and CBC that will bring Woodbine's marquee racing events and many of the world's most prominent races to audiences across network television and streaming platforms throughout the 2026 racing season.
Racing fans in Canada have already enjoyed coverage of this year's U.S. Triple Crown across Citytv, and the network will also bring coverage of The King's Plate to a national audience in 2026.
In addition to Citytv, Woodbine has partnered with CBC to stream across CBC Gem and the CBC Sports YouTube channel in 2026. Many of Woodbine's marquee races will now be available for worldwide streaming through CBC, while several prominent international races, through partnership with HBA Media, will be available for streaming in Canada.
The partnership ramps up this Sunday, July 19 with the Woodbine Oaks Presented by Stella Artois, Canada's premier race for fillies, streaming live on CBC Gem and the CBC Sports YouTube channel starting at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT).
The 166th running of The King's Plate, Canada's most prestigious horse race, will air nationally on Citytv on Saturday, August 15. As the first jewel of the Canadian Triple Crown and one of the country's most celebrated sporting and social events, The King's Plate will reach a broad national audience through Citytv's coast-to-coast broadcast network.
"These partnerships represent an exciting opportunity to showcase the passion, tradition and excitement of horse racing to audiences across Canada," said Michael Copeland, CEO, Woodbine. "By partnering with Citytv, Sportsnet and CBC, we are expanding access to some of our biggest racing events and creating new opportunities to experience the sport."
The final two legs of the Canadian Triple Crown, Prince of Wales Stakes from Fort Erie and the Breeders' Stakes from Woodbine, will stream across Canada on CBC Gem, and worldwide on the CBC Sports YouTube channel.
A highlight of the racing season is Woodbine's Turf Champions Day on September 12, featuring four Breeders' Cup Challenge Series 'Win and You're In" races. The prestigious Grade 1 Woodbine Mile is the headliner for Turf Champions Day, which will air nationally on Sportsnet ONE.
The full remaining 2026 broadcast schedule is listed below. Additional programming details and broadcast information will be announced throughout the season.
