Blue-blood filly Ballet's Legacy (I Am Invincible) topped the Inglis Digital Australia August (Early) Online Sale Aug. 12 when selling for AU$540,000 (US$381,675, AU$1=US$0.71) to New Zealand-based agent Bruce Perry.

Offered by Newgate Farm, Ballet's Legacy is a half sister to dual group 1 winner and sire Russian Revolution and closely related to group 1 winner and champion first-season sire Home Affairs, by I Am Invincible out of a half sister to Ballet's Legacy.

Perry purchased the filly for a client, with a decision on her maiden mating to be made in the coming weeks. "She's a beautiful mare and you can't buy into much better families," Perry said. "It's outstanding and current."

The second-highest price was AU$150,000 for broodmare Jest Excel (Exceed And Excel), dam of group 3-winning juvenile Shiki, who was purchased by Suman Hedge Bloodstock.

Jest Excel formed part of the Cornerstone Stud dispersal, which generated AU$761,700 in receipts. Hedge indicated the mare would likely visit Zoustar this spring.

Bennett Racing offered 74 shares across the sale, which realized a combined AU$615,000. The highlight was five 5% interests in The Roses (G2) and Queensland Oaks (G1) winner Fireball Miss, which generated AU$385,000 in total and valued the mare at approximately AU$1.5 million to AU$1.6 million.

The Inglis Digital August (Early) Online Sale grossed AU$4,044,900 (US$2,858,956) overall.
