Heavily favored in a field that was scratched in half from eight to four runners, Reagan's Flame justified her odds with a 3 1/4-length victory in the $128,640 Seaway Stakes (G3) Aug. 22 at Woodbine.
Sent off at 2-5, the 5-year-old Flameaway mare was kept well to the outside early by jockey Edgard Zayas before settling in second behind Uphill Dance. Chasing fractions of :23.41 and :46.04, Zayas had to nudge his mount forward as Uphill Dance dug in gamely entering the stretch. They battled it out until the final furlong when Reagan's Flame proved too much to handle.
By the wire, Zayas resumed a statue-like position as Reagan's Flame completed 7 furlongs on the Tapeta in 1:22.64 and paid $2.80 to win. Uphill Dance held on for second, 3 1/4 lengths ahead of Quadruple in third.
Trained by Saffie Joseph Jr. for St. Elias Stable, BAG Racing Stables, Turf Express Racing, and Watkins Diamond Stables, Reagan's Flame earned her second graded triumph after taking the May 2 Whimsical Stakes (G3) at Woodbine. She is one of two graded/group winners for Flameaway this year, who also sired Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) winner Dark Saffron. He stood the 2026 season at Darby Dan Farm near Lexington for $10,000.
