Darley America, the North American stallion operation of Godolphin, announced Sept. 3 two appointments to its stallion team. Katie LaMonica has been promoted to director of marketing after more than 20 years with the company, and Matt Daubeney has joined the operation in nominations sales. Both appointments are effective immediately.
LaMonica steps into the director of marketing role after more than two decades with Godolphin. Since joining the company in 2003 she has worked across much of the operation, holding roles in stallion nominations and in marketing, and most recently serving as charities manager. In her new role she will lead marketing for the Darley America stallion roster.
LaMonica succeeds Jim Cox, who retired in July 2026 after 19 years with Godolphin. Godolphin is grateful for all that Cox brought to the team and wishes him the best.
Daubeney will join sales manager Darren Fox and Kate Galvin on the nominations team as a point of contact for breeders using the Darley America stallions. Originally from Jersey, in the Channel Islands, Daubeney completed the National Stud course in Newmarket in 2024. He went on to graduate first in his class from Godolphin Flying Start in 2026—the two-year international Thoroughbred management program sponsored by Godolphin—completing work placements at Keeneland and at Waikato Stud in New Zealand.
"Katie has been with Godolphin for more than 20 years and her experience spans nominations, marketing, and most recently our charitable work," said Dan Pride, chief operating officer at Godolphin America. "There is very little about Godolphin and the Darley stallions she hasn't touched, and she brings a new perspective to our marketing. We are also excited to welcome Matt, who topped his Flying Start class and arrives with real enthusiasm for the stallion business."

The additions come at an active moment for the Darley America roster. Nyquist continues to perform at the top of the Kentucky stallion ranks, and the operation will welcome incoming stallions Sovereignty and Knightsbridge to Jonabell.
