Statistics from the 2026 breeding season were announced by stallion complexes, and it is confirmed that the busiest stallion in Japan was Palace Malice, who was visited by 246 mares during the 2026 breeding season.
The sire by Curlin , who was bred in Kentucky by W. S. Farish, has been standing at Darley Japan for ¥3.5 million (approx. US$22,250) for the last three seasons. He has been the busiest stallion in Japan for three consecutive seasons after covering 262 mares in 2024 and 237 mares in 2025.
Winner of the 2013 Belmont Stakes (G1) and 2014 Metropolitan Handicap (G1), Palace Malice was added to the roster at Darley Japan in 2024 after standing at Three Chimneys Farm near Versailles, Ky. for eight seasons. He sired five graded stakes winners in North America, including 2019 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T) winner Structor.
In Japan, his son Jantar Mantar won the 2023 Asahi Hai Futurity (G1), the 2024 NHK Mile Cup (G1), the 2025 Yasuda Kinen (G1) and Mile Championship (G1). India Mantuana, the dam of Jantar Mantar, was bought in foal to Accelerate at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale in 2020 by Shadai Farm for $100,000.
The second busiest stallion was Siskin, who stood at Shadai Stallion Station for ¥4 million (approx. US$25,450). The winner of the 2019 Phoenix Stakes (G1) and 2020 Irish Two Thousand Guineas (G1) covered 224 mares in 2026.
