As part of the company's ongoing efforts to support its regional marketplaces, Fasig-Tipton will offer a $500,000 bonus tied to this year's Fasig-Tipton Eastern Fall Yearlings Sale.
The bonus will be awarded if a graduate of the 2026 Eastern Fall Yearlings sale wins the 2028 Preakness Stakes (G1). All horses offered at the sale will be eligible, whether sold or reported as reserve not attained.
The $500,000 bonus will be divided equally, with $250,000 awarded to the horse's owner at the time of the Preakness victory and $250,000 awarded to the horse's owner at the time it was offered at the Eastern Fall Yearlings sale.
"We are excited to offer this extra incentive to participants in this year's Eastern Fall Yearlings Sale," Fasig-Tipton president and CEO Boyd Browning Jr. said.
"The Preakness is an important fixture of American racing and an integral part of the fabric and identity of racing in the Mid-Atlantic region. With the 2028 Preakness set to be held at the fully rebuilt Pimlico Race Course, just nine miles from our Timonium sales grounds, it's fitting to tie this bonus to the region's major yearling auction."
The Fasig-Tipton Eastern Fall Yearlings Sale will begin at 11 a.m. ET. Oct. 27 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md.
Supplemental entries are now being accepted for the sale.
