Keeneland announced Oct. 15 that Claiborne Farm, as agent, will consign a share in millionaire, grade 1 winner, and Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) contender Mindframe during the second edition of the Keeneland Championship Sale, to be held Oct. 29 in the Del Mar paddock, two days before the Breeders' Cup World Championships.

Mindframe, a 4-year-old son of Constitution , is scheduled to enter stud at Claiborne near Paris, Ky., at the conclusion of his racing career. To date, the dark bay or brown colt has compiled a 5-2-0 record from eight starts and earned $1,844,580.

"We are pleased to offer this special opportunity to participate in the stallion career of a truly outstanding prospect, Mindframe," Claiborne president Walker Hancock said. "With significant early demand from breeders already requesting seasons, this share provides guaranteed access to a top-tier stallion prospect as he retires to stud following the Breeders' Cup."

Last year, Mindframe's ability was apparent at 3 when he ran second in both the Belmont Stakes (G1) and the Haskell Stakes (G1) after his first two starts resulted in wins by a combined 21 1/4 lengths. This year, he has been even more effective, kicking off the season with a victory in the Gulfstream Park Mile Stakes (G2) followed by a win in the Churchill Downs Stakes (G1).

Mindframe returned to Churchill Downs June 28 to showcase his talent in the Stephen Foster Stakes (G1). In contrast to the colt's first two races of the year, which were around one turn, the Stephen Foster was a route at 1 1/8 miles. Mindframe's victory over defending Breeders' Cup Classic winner, Sierra Leone , at the distance stamped him as a leading contender for the 1 1/4-mile Breeders' Cup Classic.

"Mindframe has put together a near-perfect record this year, and with the Breeders' Cup Classic as his next step, there's plenty more excitement to come," Keeneland vice president of sales Tony Lacy said. "For buyers, this share represents a rare opportunity to participate in the tremendous potential of his future stallion career."

Mindframe is a second stakes winner produced by stakes winner Walk of Stars, a daughter of Street Sense  and a half sister to multiple graded-placed stakes winner Strike the Moon (Malibu Moon). Walk of Stars is also the dam of stakes winner Hollywood Walk (Animal Kingdom), who has won or placed 19 times out of 27 career starts and earned $542,731.
