Kings Equine sold the fourth seven-figure juvenile during Day 3 of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale when a Bolt d'Oro  filly (Hip 840) from its consignment sold for a session-topping $1.3 million to Bill Childs of CSLR Racing.

The filly is out of grade 2-placed, grade 3 winner Gas Station Sushi and worked in :09 4/5 for consignor Kings Equine, agent, during the sale's under-tack show.

"I thought her breeze was tremendous," said Danny Gargan, who will train the filly. "This is the only horse we've bought so far. We passed on several, trying to wait on her.

"She's a very, very good-looking individual. We thought she was the best filly in the sale."

Gargan said he hopes Hip 840 can follow in the footsteps of Iron Orchard, who won last year's Frizette Stakes (G1). Childs and Mark Stanton purchased the Authentic  filly out of last year's OBS Spring sale for $500,000 from the Grassroots Training and Sales consignment.

Hip 840 is the fifth foal out of Gas Station Sushi, who is by Into Mischief  and the dam of two winners. Gas Station Sushi is the out of the stakes winner and multiple stakes producer Five Star Daydream (Five Star Day), making her a half sister to the grade 2-placed winner, Miss Costa Rica (Hit It a Bomb). She was bred by Spendthrift Farm, who purchased Gas Station Sushi in 2018 for $675,000 at Fasig-Tipton's The November Sale.

"She's a lovely filly," said Ned Toffey, chief operating officer and general manager of Spendthrift Farm. "Into Mischief mares are really popular right now.

"But most of all, it was just how she breezed. She breezed so well. She was so efficient. It looked effortless, but very fast. Her gallop out was very strong. She did everything the right way."

Spendthrift Farm's Bolt d'Oro is the sire of potential Kentucky Derby (G1) contender Incredibolt, who won the Virginia Derby and 2025 Street Sense Stakes (G3), and of Destino d'Oro, who won the Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf Invitational Stakes (G2T) at Gulfstream Park. Bolt d'Oro stands for $25,000.

At the end of trade for the third session, 143 horses, including post-ring sales, changed hands for a gross of $26,036,000—a 20% increase from last year's corresponding session ($21,505,000). The average was $182,070, with a median of $80,000, up 25% (from $145,304) and 5% (from $76,000), respectively. Thirty-nine horses failed to meet their reserve, resulting in an RNA rate of 21.4%.

Fillies were particularly in demand, with the three top-priced juveniles of the day all fillies. St. Elias Stable bought Hip 915, a filly by Liam's Map  from Tom McCrocklin's consignment, for $925,000, and Donato Lanni, agent for Baoma Corp., secured a filly (Hip 754) by McKinzie  for $900,000.

Tom McCrocklin was the leading consignor of the day, selling eight juveniles from his draft for a total of $2.75 million. Childs' single purchase of Hip 840 put him atop the buyers.

Hip 754 breezed a furlong in a co-fastest time of :09 3/5 during the under-tack show for consignor Wavertree Stables.

"She breezed really, really well," Lanni said. "She came back excellent. She vetted. Physically, she looked good. Mentally, she looked good. she just jumped over every hoop, and there are some big hoops they have to jump.

"It's premium when they do what they do, and you have to pay for it, but I'm happy we got her. I love her."

Lanni said he believes Gainesway's McKinzie has a bright future as a stallion.

"They seem to have speed," he said. "They seem to be precocious and come back as 3-year-olds, and they want to go two turns. He's getting things done."

Hip 754 was bred in Kentucky by Champion Equine out of the City Zip mare E Built This City, and was purchased by Redwings for $155,000 at the 2025 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

The highest-priced colt of the day was Hip 704, a colt by freshman sire Speaker's Corner , who sold to Lauren Carlisle, agent, for $875,000. The colt, offered by Omar Ramirez Bloodstock, agent, breezed a furlong in :09 4/5 during the under-tack preview.
