Incredibolt was entered May 11 to the May 16 Preakness Stakes (G1) at Laurel Park, according to Michael Hardy, director of operations for the colt's owner, Pin Oak Stud. The draw will be held later Monday afternoon.

Trained by Riley Mott, Incredibolt finished sixth in the May 2 Kentucky Derby (G1) under jockey Jaime Torres, who will ride him in the Preakness. Torres won the 2024 Preakness with Seize the Grey .

"The horse really was doing so well coming out of the Derby," Hardy said. "He obviously had the seven weeks between the Virginia Derby and the (Kentucky) Derby. Riley is very, very happy with with his attitude, and everything that he's done since. Obviously, he hasn't done a whole lot since the Derby, yet the way he's behaving is as good.

"You kind of have to take the chance to run in a classic," he added. "You don't get these opportunities all the time. So when one is staring you in the face … there's a classic, a horse is telling you that he's ready to run. The decision then is a lot easier."

Before the Derby, where the son of Bolt d'Oro  was beaten just 4 lengths by the winner, Golden Tempo, Incredibolt won the March 14 Virginia Derby at Colonial Downs. Last year, the colt captured the Street Sense Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs. Incredibolt has earned $498,681 and has a record of 3-0-0 in six starts.

Hardy said Incredibolt will train at Churchill Downs May 12 and ship to Maryland in the afternoon.
